Hobas® Pipe Culvert Reline project for NCDOT
The project was SR1227 – Harnett County
NCDOT Division 6 Bridge Maintenance decided to slip line an existing 90” diameter CMP culvert that was corroding in the invert of the pipe. The existing culvert had 30 plus feet of fill over top of the pipe making it virtually impossible to tear out and replace. 120 lf of 72” diameter Hobas® Centrifugally-Casted Fiberglass Pipe with a Flush Reline Joint was used to slip line the deteriorating culvert. The liner pipe was installed by a contractor, Applied Polymerics, who installed the liner pipe and grouted the annular space between the two pipes using an air activated chemical grout.
